The military junta is trying to regain control of the Kalay-Tamu Asian Road in Sagaing Region, Kalay District, which is a major trade route for the Myanmar-India border. The military junta is advancing in full force, and the revolutionary forces are losing control of the areas they controlled. In order to regain control of the 80-mile-long Kalay-Tamu Road, the military junta first reinforced Kalay by air. Then, starting in August, it advanced from Kalay, and by October, the military junta had reached about 60 miles from Kalay. The military junta is deploying about 1,000 troops along the Kalay-Tamu Asian Road in three groups.
Kalay borders Chin State, and no military lines have been seen on the Chin State side. It seems that they will first control that route, which is important for trade with India.
