In North Shan State, the MNDAA opened fire on protesters, killing six people. The villagers were protesting against the Chinese mining operations in a village in the township when the MNDAA fired on them. The locals were protesting because the Chinese were mining gold in a stream that was their main source of water. The MNDAA’s actions were no different from those of the military council, as they fired on the protesters until they were killed. It was later learned that the MNDAA had accepted the locals’ demands. In any case, it is not a good idea for such incidents to occur in areas controlled by the revolutionary forces. In North Shan State, after the fighting had calmed down, conflicts between them have increased.
