The Thai government had planned to issue an arrest warrant for Saw Chit-chu, the leader of the BGF who has been involved in the Kyar Phyant business in Myawaddy, Karen State, but the plan has now been suspended. Saw Chit-chu’s situation can only be eradicated if it is like Kokang. I don’t think the Thai government can issue an arrest warrant. Saw Chit-chu has some assets on the Thai side that are not exciting. Now that the Thai court can’t even issue an arrest warrant, it’s cool. It seems that top Thai government officials are also involved in business. It seems that Thailand is afraid that Saw Chit-chu will reveal the names and who took bribes.
In fact, if the KNU can take advantage of the BGF DKBA and the business while business is still open, the Karen revolution will go a long way. Now that the KNU is quiet, it begs the question whether some of the leadership is indirectly involved in accepting the self-interest. The revolutionary forces in Karen State have failed to seize this opportunity.
