In Karen State, which has been relatively quiet since the beginning of the war, there have been sporadic clashes this month. There have been no city-capturing battles, but the KNU is continuing to engage in camp-capturing battles. At least three military council camps have been captured in Hpa-Pun district. Fighting has also intensified on the Asian Highway and in the Dawna Mountains, where the Aung Zeya line is located. The Aung Zeya line has not advanced yet, but it is sending reinforcements from the town of Kawkareik, which it has recaptured.
In Karenni State, the military council has been advancing in a line of more than a thousand troops to retake Moe Bwe for about a month. The Karenni resistance forces are fiercely resisting. The main need of the resistance groups is ammunition to prevent the military council from retaking most of the Karenni areas. As before, they are fighting with little access to the EAOs in northern Shan State due to the limited access routes. Therefore, Karenni State is a rare region where the military council has a military advantage.
