Min Aung Hlaing was hosted by the Chinese Prime Minister himself for the first time. At the meeting, Min Aung Hlaing said that if the armed groups in northern Shan want to talk about peace, they will meet only if they show their willingness to talk about peace. He did not give details on how this would be done. The TLNA responded to Min Aung Hlaing’s words that if the military is to talk to the military council, it will be possible only after the military leaves politics and takes responsibility for the war crimes it has committed. In addition, Min Aung Hlaing asked China to continue closing border trade gates. The trip may not have made much difference for the revolution, but it has given the military council a strong propaganda base that the international community is starting to support them.
