The Kachin Independence Army (KIA) has been pressured by China to stop its offensive against the military council in recent days. But the KIA has not accepted it. After that incident, China has closed all border gates with Burma starting today. Gates in the KIA-controlled area of Kachin State, as well as gates in the MNDAA-controlled area of northern Shan State, are closed. No goods are allowed to enter or leave. Therefore, China-Burma border trade has completely stopped.
In recent days, the Chinese military consulate in Mandalay was bombed. No one was injured, but a few buildings were damaged. It is not known who did it. After these incidents, border gates have been blocked. China has been significantly interfering in Myanmar affairs.
