Some leaders of the New Mon State Party, which is the only EAO in Mon State, have announced that they will fight back against the military council. The New Mon Party is a party that signed the NCA peace treaty with the Military Council. This month, the group held a conference and some of its leaders decided to fight back against the military council. The leaders have said they will join any organization that opposes the military. In other words, the party split into two sides, and one side joined the revolution. An EAO team from Mon State, where the military situation is somewhat calm, has joined, so it is already interesting. At the moment, there may not be any immediate effects, but when the nationwide fighting resumes, significant progress can be seen in Mon State.
Since the 1027 operation has stopped, there have been three ethnic organizations that have changed to the civilians side from the Military Council. The PLANO ethnic armed group from Shan Mountain and the NMSP from Mon State, which signed the NCA, have withdrawn from the NCA and declared war on the military council. In Karen State, the BGF group, led by Saw Chit Thu, has announced that it will break away from the military council and stand separately. Of the three groups, the PLNO group from Shan South is fighting with the Military Council in Sisai Township, while the other two groups are monitoring the situation.
