When I wake up in the morning, the first thing I think about is where I can easily add petrol to my motorcycle. Many petrol stations in Mandalay are no longer selling petrol these days. Only big stores like DENKO, BOC open and sell. The shops are full of motorcycles and cars. That’s why I had to learn which online store would be convenient. Then go to a convenient store and line up. Queuing up is very frustrating. Although it is rainy season, Mandalay weather is cold only when it rains and hot all the time. Spending time under the hot sun, missing work, and having to wait in long queues to get motorcycle fuel. Even so, some shops can’t fill a full tank and only sell it in parts. If you run out of petrol just before your turn, all your hard work is for nothing. I didn’t want to line up like that, so I had to pay a high price to buy and use it at small black shops.
In Mandalay, where there is no public transportation system, a motorcycle is life. If you don’t have a motorcycle, it’s like having a broken leg. Now, the people of the whole city are suffering from unprecedented hardships. This time of year, fuel shortages often occur, but they are usually fine for a day or two. It’s been a week now. I wonder if I’m going to have to ride the little bike that I left at home this time.
