The World Bank announced that it is no longer able to forecast Myanmar’s economic situation for the coming years. Last year, Myanmar’s economy collapsed by 18 percent, and there is no way to recover this year. All the ASEAN countries are showing economic growth due to the virus, but Myanmar is falling below negative numbers. At the Thai border, thousands of illegal migrant workers from Burmese are being detained, so the prisons are no longer even large enough. Domestically, people of all classes can no longer work or eat. In more than a year since the military coup, the economy has collapsed. As long as the military is ruling the country, there is no way to save it.
