Fighting broke out in Mandalay earlier this morning. Insurgents stormed the site of the PDF team. PDF groups fired back from the house, resulting in a shootout from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. Two were killed on the PDF side and six were arrested. On the rebel side, three people, including a lieutenant colonel, were killed. Even so, the rebels are still fighting with small armies and RPGs from all over the city. They did not think that the young men hiding in the house had weapons in their hands. In the evening, two more policemen were killed when another PDF group threw a grenade in front of the police station in downtown.
Despite various attempts by the military council to stabilize the country, fighting has spread to the big city of Mandalay.
