The US House of Representatives has approved the US NDAA bill, which includes provisions to further crack down on the military and support Myanmar’s democracy. It is known that the entire Burma Act is included in that law. After approval by the lower house, it will be approved after passing the upper house and finally President Biden’s signature.

In that law, the main points for Myanmar’s affairs will be to block the military council’s oil and natural gas business. Other relevant sanctions will follow. For the pro-democracy party, it would establish a five-year budget of fifty million dollars a year. Including the provision of $220 million in humanitarian aid. Most importantly, EAO PDFs will be provided with non-weaponized technical support. It can be said that progress has been made since last year’s NDAA.
