Robbery violence on YBS buses in Yangon is getting worse day by day. Before, there were only pickpockets on the buses, but now there are also rough rides. Pickpockets have become abundant again. The perpetrators are not alone, but in groups. If you go with your stuff, you can never get it back when they pickpocket you. You can’t rely on the police station. According to the data, there are at least three pickpockets a day on buses. I have been cheated twice myself. It’s because I’m aware that I don’t lose anything.
Lately, the perpetrators have been openly stabbing each other on BUS cars. Picking a free time in the afternoon, they get on the car in groups, robbing the passengers. No one can help. I have never even imagined such an event before. Now, when riding a bus, I am afraid of being pickpocketed if the bus is tight, and if the bus is too loose, I am afraid of being stabbed.
