The fighting between the military council troops and the KIA continues to intensify in Moomak, Kachin State. The military council is trying to capture the KIA camps in the Longja mountain east of Momok. Those KIA camps could well threaten the Myitkyina-Bangmao road. The military camps along that road are not safe, so they are fighting desperately using more than five hundred forces. It is known that more than a hundred military soliders have been killed on the side of the military council in the fighting that has been going on for over a week.
The military council has re-authorized prison letters that have been closed in prisons across the country. But the tests are much stricter. It is possible that the military council planned the Insein prison bombing because they wanted to tighten the prison terms.
