The KNU has said it will not negotiate peace because the military has never left politics. KIA in Kachin State; KNPP in Kayah; The CNF in Chin said the same thing. These groups will not hold peace talks with the military council. On the ground, those areas have been hardest hit by military violence.

Army comrades and family members in war-torn areas are fleeing to Naypyidaw in droves because they are no longer safe in those areas. The military council has called on the UN to provide humanitarian assistance to them. It would be heartbreaking to know that the whole village was burnt down. At present, military refugees in Naypyidaw are being provided with food and shelter. The military does not want to fully support its people in need.
