In Pearl Township, Sagaing Division, the military used three helicopters to capture Pearl PDF leader Bo Naga. Although Naga escaped, U Nauk village was destroyed. Innocent villagers were captured, and some were killed by insurgents. As the local defense forces in Yinmarpin, Pearl area are strong, the military council is trying hard to seize the area these days. In those areas, strikes are being resumed with PDF guards.
No heavy fighting has taken place in Lay Kay Kaw area of Kayin State, but clashes are still going on. The fighting shifted to Kawkareik. In Lay Kay Kaw, some rebels are hiding and looting public housing. Refugee camps near the Thaung Yin River on the Thai border are full.
