Spring Revolution Daily News for 30th August 2021

The Military Council

  • According to the junta media, 2 million doses of Sinopharm vaccines, procured from China, arrived at Yangon International Airport on Saturday evening. They were received by a team led by Yangon regional public health officer and they were kept in storage at Yangon central vaccine warehouse.
  • According to the junta media, PDF members from 7 townships of Yangon Region, who had conducted urban guerrilla attacks, were arrested together with explosives.
  • The military junta threatened business people from Kyaikto in Mon State that legal action would be taken against them if they were found supporting the NUG and PDF.
  • In an interview with a Politics Magazine from Russia, the junta leader Min Aung Hlaing referred to himself as a soldier who had been building the nation.

The National Unity Government (NUG)

  • The NUG issued part (1) of the preparation plan for the public in relation to risks during conflicts.
  • On Saturday, the Ministry of Defense- NUG released a statement that people’s police were not to obey the military junta, referring to people’s soldiers and police.
  • Turning into the interim government, the military junta had been trying to gain recognition in the international community, including the United Nations. They seemed to have taken a step for international diplomatic warfare. Therefore, international confrontations would become severe soon, according to U Aung Myo Min, Minister of Human Rights- NUG.

Revolution Activities

  • According to local residents, Tin Hlaing, allegedly an informer to the junta in Ward (1) of Hlaing Township in Yangon, was shot dead at about 6:00 am Sunday while he was driving the car.
  • In Insein Township, there were two explosions at the back of Insein general hospital on Lower Mingaladone road.
  • According to local residents, U Tin Hlaing and his wife, a two-digit lottery seller and junta informer in Ward (1) of Hlaing Township, were shot dead in the early morning on Sunday.
  • In Kangyidaunt of Ayeyarwaddy Region, an unknown gunman shot at Mg Myint, allegedly a junta informer in Uyin Ward, at about 6:00 am Sunday.
  • In Phya Pone Township, local youth PDF issued a warning to U Htay Lwin in Chaungwa village and U Soe Htwe in Taman village to immediately stop their activities of informing to the junta.
  • According to KNDF, there were four battles on Saturday as a large number of the junta armed forces invaded Kayah (Karenni) State.
  • On Sunday, Mawlamyein youth made an indoors strike, calling for helping the revolution by sharing the news about military operations of the junta army.
  • On Saturday, there was a night strike of banging pots and pans in two northern villages of Latbadaung Taung area of Salingyi Township to drive away from the military watchdog.
  • In a village of Shwebo Township, there was a march against the military dictatorship on Sunday.
  • In Longlone Township of Taninthayi Region, the junta armed forces in plain clothes arrested 4 female passers-by in Sitbye village for no apparent reason, according to DMSC-Dawei.
  • Yay Township PDF announced that they had conducted a guerrilla attack at the junta army (106) the previous night.
  • In Monekoe Township of Shan North, the junta army shot mortars on Sunday morning. Consequently, a house in Nampha village was burnt down and 3 villagers died.
  • As the junta army had been shooting mortars in Monekoe Township, local residents of Kaunglone village and Nampha village had to run away on Sunday.
  • In Myingyan Township of Mandalay Region, the group of Bad Guys with Good Hearts announced that they had killed Myat Soe, junta-appointed administrator of Yandapo village, by cutting his head at about 10:10 pm Saturday.
  • On Saturday night, Mandalay Monks’ Union recited Parittas for the public as usual and protested against the military dictatorship.
  • In Chanmya Thazi Township, there was an attack with a bomb explosion at a convoy of military trucks stopped before forestry office between 112 and 113 streets at about 8:00 am Sunday.
