Fighting has been going on between the town’s defense forces and the rebels for the past three days in Mindat, a small town in Chin State. As usual, the city’s defense forces were resisting with guns.
The rebels, who lacked territorial expertise and heavy casualties on the ground, launched airstrikes today, using heavy artillery, helicopters and, most recently, civilians to defuse the rebels with artillery shields. The city’s defense forces had to withdraw for fear of the town. They were able to resist the rebels with guns for more than three days.
