The Arakan Army (AA) and its allies have been fighting in the Nat Lake strategic area in the Rakhine state, and the military council is preparing to make a final push. It is understood that the top brass from the strategic area have fled by helicopter.
The AA and its allies launched an offensive against the Nat Lake strategic area, a strategic area equipped with radar for air defense near the An Padan road, in February. The main military outpost, MPT Tawataing Kone, was captured in March. In September and early October, the military forces captured more key outposts such as Gok Gyi and Faita Kone. After intense fighting, the military units in the area have retreated. It is expected that the area will be completely taken over soon. If the Nat Lake strategic area is captured, it will be much easier to continue to seize the military’s facilities.
