The military commission’s troops advancing on Kyaukme have reached within three miles of the city. Government offices are on fire in the city. The military lobby is accusing the TLNA of setting it on fire, while the TNLA is claiming that the fire was caused by military bombing. It is also reported that TLNA forces have begun to withdraw from the city. Kyaukme will fall within a few days.
The fighting in Bhamo is also continuing. The KIA’s situation there is not as bad as the TLNA’s. They are still able to counterattack the military’s offensive. In the battle for Bhamo, neither side has gained a significant advantage.
