The junta-run government has issued an order to install glass doors and windows in all shops in the earthquake-hit city of Mandalay by September. It has been said that those who do not comply with the order will be subject to legal action, up to and including closure. In Mandalay, five months after the Sagaing earthquake, reconstruction work has not been completed, and residents are still unable to clear their houses because they cannot afford to pay the fees. Similarly, Pyin Oo Lwin Township was recently ordered to install glass doors and remove glass doors and windows (sunshades) in shops in the township, including the Mandalay-Lashio road, citing the modern city. The people are suffering uncontrollably amid the military leader’s crazy orders.
