NUG PDF troops have captured the town of Ban Maung on the border of Sagaing Region and Kachin State. The attack on the town began on September 15 and was taken five days later. The town was quickly taken because there were no military bases in the town. There are still some military bases in the west of the town that can be taken.
Ban Maung is located in the upper Sagaing Region, not far from the towns of Intaw and Pin Le Bu, which are occupied by the revolutionary forces. It is not very important from a military point of view. Intaw was captured in April, and five months later, the revolutionary forces were able to capture another town from the revolutionary forces.
