MDY PDF has begun attacking the warships approaching Mandalay. The military council’s warships and vessels are being cut off and blocked along the river as they pass through Mathayar, Sint Ku and Thabeik Kyin townships. As a result of the attacks, a tugboat carrying weapons and supplies belonging to the military council was sunk, and one warship and two other tugboats were badly damaged, MDY PDF reported. The military council’s ships were closely followed along the river by Y-12 aircraft and bombed, while jet fighters and Mi-35 attack helicopters repeatedly bombed the military group, causing significant damage. At present, the warship group has not been able to continue its advance and is anchored above Thabeik Kyin township and is repairing the damage. The warships were trying to sail upstream without entering Thabeikkyin.
