A Kachin Independence Army (KIA) joint force has once again captured a battalion near the Operation Command Headquarters (SKA-21) in Bhamo, Kachin State. It is reported that more than 70 prisoners of war were captured by the military council during the battle. The large number of prisoners was captured because the KIA was able to block the retreat routes after capturing the battalion. The KIA has also taken complete control of Bhamo Airport. The KIA joint forces have been intensifying their offensive since early February to completely capture the SKA-21 headquarters in Bhamo, and the military council has been continuously attacking them daily with aircraft, drones, and heavy weapons.
