The flood situation has worsened in many parts of the country due to the ragi storm. The affected areas are the eastern part of Shan State, From Southern Shan State to Mandalay Region Karen State It has expanded to Baguio. In the eastern part of Shan State, Tachilek City, Bah An, and Myawati in Karen State. This is the second time in 3 months that Myawati was still flooded during the rainy season. In Bago, Taung Ngu and towns along the Sittaung River are facing floods. The worst is the cities in central Mandalay, including Nay Pyi Taw. Because of the heavy rains, the dams were broken, and the pit, which never filled with water, Ya Me Thin, Taungtha cities are facing major floods. The military council did not give advance warning about the dam. In the township of Ya Me Thin, the entire village has been washed away and there have been deaths. At least 20 people have died so far. In one of the gold mines in Ya Me Thin Township, a landslide caused the entire gold block to go underground, so the death toll may continue to rise.
Since the central region of Mandalay is not close to rivers, it is not prone to floods. Now, many local people are suffering due to damming without prior notice. As the rain continues, the damage may increase.
