The issue of strict screening of travelers at Yangon Airport is very serious. The Military Council is targeting those who want to tax as well as those who want to evade the conscription law. Almost all young people between the ages of 23 and 32 who hold visitor passports are sent back home from the airport without any background checks. Those who will go with employment passports will be released if their proof is not perfect. In addition to the airport immigration staff, the police and soldiers are conducting a team investigation. Even if they can show the specified evidence, they have to pay money. Because of their actions, passengers as well as airlines are facing a lot of difficulties. At the airport, which is the entry and exit point of a country, they are making arbitrary money without any law.
As usual, citizens who are leaving the country do not need to show any proof. The military council does not seem to want the youth to leave the country. It doesn’t matter because they won’t get their taxes if they close it permanently, they are arbitrarily strict in various ways. Due to these conditions, young people from the ruined country will no longer be allowed to leave freely and will be trapped. If you stay in the country, there is still the threat of unemployment and conscription. People are slowly closing their exits.
