This morning, as a continuation of the 1027 operation being carried out by the three northern sister alliances in the northern Shan region, the TLNA said that Nung Cho, In Kyaukme and Mokot townships, have started fighting the military council troops. Operation 1027 began in October 2023, and when the military group was suffering, China intervened and signed the Hainan ceasefire agreement last January, stopping the operation. Today, more than five months after the signing of the cease-fire agreement, Nung Cho from North Shan, the fighting between the military group and TNLA troops in Kyaukme and Mokot areas has resumed. Since 5 o’clock this morning, the sounds of large and small arms have been continuously heard in those cities. This time, the battle zone included the city of Mokot, bordering Mandalay and Shan. The military tensions in North Shan since the beginning of this month have now returned to major fighting.
