Monsoon has entered the whole of Myanmar and the rainy season has arrived. In Burma, when the rainy season comes, there is less military activity on both sides, but this year, there are still a lot of fights. Rakhine State is the region where the war is not raging. After the AA Army captured almost all of northern Rakhine State, the fighting reached Taung Gok Township in southern Rakhine State. Right now, there are fierce battles in Thandwe Township. AA will be able to take over Thandwe City soon. I think the AA Army will try to capture the entire Rakhine State before the rainy season.
In Kachin State, after the offensive of KIA in Kachin state, some towns were captured. Although the fighting has subsided a bit lately, they still manage to capture an average of one army camp per day. However, the KIA’s military goals in Kachin State are still unpredictable. Will the capital Myitkyina be taken away? It is not yet clear whether the routes into the state will be cut.
In North Shan, which is adjacent to Kachin State, the military and the three northern groups are fighting again. Since the military council is violating the cease-fire agreements, could the fighting resume soon?
