Yesterday, the NUG and some ethnic EAOs jointly issued a common agreement. The points released are the eradication of military dictatorship, Factors such as the establishment of a federal democratic state. The groups that jointly published with NUG are Karen KNU, Chin is CNF, Kayah is KNPP and Kachin is KIA. Other groups did not come. These groups have been cooperating with NUG since 2021, but it is disappointing that they have not been able to organize other groups in 3 years. There is nothing special in the statement, just the things we agreed on before. Therefore, the joint statement on the 3rd anniversary of the military coup has not changed anything in terms of form and substance. This shows that political progress has stopped on the side of the revolutionary forces in these 3 years. The NUG’s ability to mobilize other EAOs and revolutionary forces within the country has stagnated since 2022. The NUCC, which was formed to allow everyone to participate, did not work in practice. The ethnic revolutionary forces still see the NUG as a direct rival to the Burmese government. During the 1027 operation, this fact became more obvious. If the NUG cannot mobilize other powerful ethnic armed groups, including the Northern Three alliances, political progress will continue to be slow. In this Spring Revolution, military progress is ahead, and if political progress is not followed, there will be unintended consequences in the future.
