Ongoing challenges in Myanmar

It is not easy to leave my mother country by leaving my family and that is the only reason why I am here in Myanmar with low profile.

Even in the flash back moment, it is not easy to think about last three years and I realized that we are still in unstable and emotional whenever, wherever in this situation. I was a journalist and worked at the top one media company in Myanmar. When we suddenly faced the coup, media (journalism) industry was broken out by military army. They raid the media companies, destroyed newsrooms, arrested journalists and sent to the jails. Not only that but they tried to cover all the news with fakes, made propaganda, and substituted with fake news agencies. So, the whole industry became yellow journalism and many journalists stayed low profile, run, escaped and moved to the free zones (especially in Thailand, Austria, and US).

The God saved me and I am still in Myanmar and became a volunteer in VSO Myanmar by living with low profile, who’s know I was a journalist and loved the news. I buried my main career and tried to be stable since last three years. But when I saw the news and faced the real happening such as they arrested the civilians without reasons, their corruption, my blood gets shaking. In Myanmar, everything in the military’s mouth is law. They can do whatever they want, they desire. They have automatic permission to enter everyone’s home, arrest the man, rape the women (their reason is national security but in actual no reasons sometimes). We are not safe 24 hours around and worry everything. On the other hand, we have families, relatives and we need to look after them so we must be resilience. It is not easy to leave my mother country by leaving my family and that is the only reason why I am here in Myanmar with low profile.
