The TNLA once again captured the town of Namtu, home to a world-famous mine in northern Shan State. The city was attacked on December 26th and captured 2 days later. Currently, the military council troops who fled the city are being chased and cleared. It is known that the military council blocked the entrances and exits of Lashio, which is the regional military headquarters, during the battle to capture Namtu. Previously, only registered people were allowed to enter and exit Lashio, but now no one is allowed to enter or exit Lashio. Namtum Village is only a few miles west of Lasho. After the TNLA took over, the city was bombarded by the military council from the air, and many areas were destroyed. About 40 percent of the city has been destroyed. Most of the residents of the city are fleeing. The TNLA has now captured 5 cities in North Shan and continues to attack the cities of Kut Khaing and Theindi.
