The Kachin Independence Army (KIA) finally attacked and captured the military council camp near Aungja village in Moemauk Township, Kachin State. The KIA has been besieging the Aung Ja base under the Military Council’s No. 21 Operation Command Headquarters (SKA-21), which is about 12 miles away from Laiza, the KIA headquarters, and near Nam Sanyan. Now, the KIA has cleared and controlled the Aungja camp. The military council army suffered a lot of casualties, possibly hundreds. Since the base camp was large, there were a lot of enemy weapons and ammunition seized
In Aungja area, where there are 3 military council camps, the KIA captured a military council camp in September and was able to capture the rest of the military council camp in October. Currently, there are no military council troops in the area.
