Sagaing Division Monywa Township, Political prisoners have been on hunger strike in Monywa prison since last September 8th. On September 8th, 15 prisoners started a hunger strike and 50 people participated in a hunger strike due to the police and military council forces confiscating all the items they could find from the outcasts under the title of “search”. They went on a hunger strike demanding four things, three sets of prison uniforms are allowed per prisoner to return confiscated items, to return the stored pots and pans and food and dishes; 10 letters per prisoner and so on. A week later, after the health condition of the protesting prisoners deteriorated, the military council granted four demands of the political prisoners on September 13. During the 5-day hunger strike, three prisoners fell into a coma and did not receive medical care in the prison.
Currently, the health condition of the prisoners who went on hunger strike is not known. Returning medicines due to requests. It is assumed that health treatment will be provided. prison authorities; the warring groups are the existing laws, Ignoring the prison laws and going along with orders and directives, I think it’s just a show of compliance. The military council never gave up on their defeat. There is no acceptance. Especially the prison fights are worse. They don’t take it for granted that they have to pay less to prisoners. Both the media and the public need to continue to monitor this issue.
