The Deputy Minister of Tanintharyi in Lower Burma and the Minister of Borders were re-arrested by the Military Council. Due to internal information leaks and bribery, a special team from Nay Pyi Taw came to arrest him. Recently, the head of Kachin State was also arrested for communicating with the KIA.
Lately, the military council has seen top officials being arrested. In the past, only battalion commanders were arrested for disobeying orders. Whatever their reasons, it shows the growing distrust of each other within the warring factions. Some are hoping that these events will lead to a mutiny within the army. But this is considered less likely. If you think about it from the other side, because Min Aung Hlaing is acting arbitrarily, fear will grow in the army and there will only be more people who will fall under Min Aung Hlaing’s will. Just recently, Min Aung Hlaing reorganized the military council’s government with only those he trusted. Therefore, there is no possibility of a mutiny within the army until now.
