A military commission convoy from Nay Pyi Taw, which was on its way to inspect the junta’s fake election phase (2) in Magway Region, was attacked, killing eight people, including the township police chief, the station chief, and the personal officer of an election commission member. The rebels ambushed the convoy while it was on its way. The convoy that was attacked was carrying some members of the military commission’s Union Election Commission and members of the divisional election commissions, who were on their way to inspect the 11 townships where the election phase (2) will be held in Magway Region. It should be noted that this operation to prevent the election from being successful by the military commission has also affected union-level officials.
