The military commission has recaptured Thibaw, a town in northern Shan State. Thibaw was recaptured about half a month after the capture of Kyaukme. The TLNA did not resist Thibaw strongly, so the military commission was able to capture it in such a short time. After capturing Thibaw, the military’s offensive is expected to head towards Namma, where the mineral deposits are located.
