In the townships of Yangon, the military commission has started conducting mock elections. The guest lists and guest books of the residents in the neighborhoods have been confiscated. If you don’t attend the demonstration, the guest books will not be returned. They are being forced in a subtle way. You may like the demonstration or not. Even now, it is just a mock demonstration. I don’t know how they will force you to come and vote if the real election happens. Therefore, I don’t think the people under the military commission’s rule can just protest the election and not vote.
