Today is the day the military council is to renew its term every six months. However, this time, the emergency period will not be extended. The State Planning and Administration Council (SPAC), which they formed in order to hold elections, has been dissolved and the State Security and Peace Commission has been reorganized. The military commission, which is composed of most of the top generals of the coup d’état, has been replaced by the State Security and Peace Commission. The military commission, which is composed of the coup d’état’s top generals, has been chaired by the coup leader, Min Aung Hlaing, who has assumed the duties of acting president and commander-in-chief of the armed forces. In this way, the military commander-in-chief has transferred power to Vice President Min Aung Hlaing. And since the organization has been renamed, it will be called the Military Commission. The military commission will continue to conduct elections. The military council will inevitably hold elections by the end of this year.
