The military junta has bombed villages along the banks of the Ayeyarwady River in the eastern part of Wetlet Township, Sagaing Region, above Mandalay, killing 21 people and injuring more than 50.The military junta has dropped bombs on these villages from Y-12 aircraft indiscriminately. Among the dead were children and women, as well as families living in the same house. More than 50 of the injured are in critical condition, and hospitals are full of wounded patients.
The military junta’s boats, which have been moving up the river from Mandalay, are bombing to clear the way. After bombing the villages, the military junta’s boats have reached the Sint-Khu area. The military junta is not only carrying out airstrikes, but also firing heavy weapons along the river from boats. As a result, local people from towns and villages along the Irrawaddy River have fled and taken refuge in the jungle.
