A convoy of 22 warships and attack craft departed from Gowin Port in Mandalay, Myanmar, heading up the Ayeyarwady River this morning. The convoy is said to consist of 5 warships and attack craft. The warships are carrying newly trained soldiers, weapons and supplies. The riverside areas will be bombed to clear the way for them to pass through. Currently, fighting is intense in Mattara and Thabeikkyin townships along the river, and Bhamo, upstream of the Ayeyarwady River, is under siege by the KIA and allied forces. Therefore, it is speculated that the convoy is to deliver reinforcements and supplies to Bhamo, or it is speculated that it is to deliver reinforcements to Mattara and Thabeikkyin areas. The military council was planning to send reinforcements and ammunition to military camps upstream during the rainy season when the Irrawaddy and Chindwin rivers were in flood.
