Myanmar has been added to the list of countries that the United States has imposed trade tariffs on. US President Donald Trump has issued a notice to increase tariffs on goods from Myanmar and ASEAN countries, including Japan and South Korea. Myanmar will be subject to a total of 40 percent increase. The US President has sent a letter to the military leader Min Aung Hlaing informing him of the increase in tariffs, and he is proud that Min Aung Hlaing recognizes them. It is a bad joke to hear that the military council is only looking at their side and is proud of the people who will suffer from the increase in tariffs.
