The AA army is gradually taking over Kyaukphyu, where the China natural gas pipeline and investments are located in Rakhine State. The AA has been attacking Kyaukphyu since February and has come within arm’s reach of the city. The military council has been sending reinforcements several times to prevent the loss of Kyaukphyu, with more than a thousand troops. However, the AA’s offensive has resulted in many casualties and fleeing, so the force is not enough. It seems that it is taking time to capture the city because of Chinese projects.
