US President Trump has signed an executive order banning citizens from 12 countries, including Myanmar, from entering the United States. The ban is being imposed on the grounds of national security. Other countries that are not allowed to enter include Afghanistan, Iran, Libya, Somalia, and Yemen, which are politically and militarily unstable. This ban on Myanmar citizens was imposed during the previous military regime, and was lifted by the US during the Obama administration. It can be said that Trump has only bad news for the people of Myanmar.
