A video has emerged of the KIA using a suicide drone to attack a military helicopter that was forced to make an emergency landing near Shwe Ku town after being shot at yesterday. The drone hit the main propeller blades of the helicopter as it was about to land and exploded. This is the first time in the history of the Burmese revolution that a junta helicopter has been successfully attacked with a drone while still in the air. This tactic has been seen in the wars between Ukraine and Russia, but now, as revolutionary forces have begun to use it in the Burmese civil war, it is a nightmare for the junta helicopters.
The helicopter was completely useless because the KIA was able to shoot down drones and heavy weapons. As a result, the military council lost two military transport helicopters in two days. The KIA was able to shoot down two helicopters that were providing support during the battle for Bhamo, so the military council could later refuse to provide support with helicopters. Since there was no support by land or water, the KIA’s battle to capture Bhamo could have been faster.
