While the MNDAA-held city of Lashio was handed over to the military council, the military council was gaining the upper hand on the Taung Kham front in the TLNA-controlled area. The military council was unable to completely capture the four military council artillery units in the area, so it began to reinforce its forces and shift from defense to attack. The military council’s heavy use of air, artillery, and drones on the front has been gradually weakening the TLNA forces since the end of March. The military council is now within twenty miles of Naung Cho.
In Karenni State, the military council is also fighting hard to retake Moe Bwe. So far, the Karenni resistance forces have been able to contain the military council’s offensive. Moe Bwe is the gateway to Karenni State, so the resistance forces will continue to resist as best they can.
