The international community is continuing to provide emergency relief, food and medical aid to the people of Myanmar who lost their homes and suffered casualties in the March 28 Sagaing earthquake. At least two planes carrying relief supplies land at Yangon Airport every day. However, the military council has not distributed the tons of relief supplies sent by the international community to the earthquake-stricken people, but has instead piled them up in Nay Pyi Taw. They are in the field in front of the ministry office in Nay Pyi Taw and some in the sports field. The emergency relief supplies sent by the international community include short-term items that can be blown away if not distributed in time, and it is not appropriate to pile up relief supplies covered with tarpaulin. The military council cannot manage the relief supplies properly. Some of these supplies are also distributed within Nay Pyi Taw. The earthquake has not reached Mandalay and Sagaing. It has been more than 3 weeks since the earthquake. The country is flooded with international aid. Due to the military council’s lack of goodwill, international aid is not reaching the people, and they are losing their rights and opportunities.
