The commander of the 77th Division and about 130 of his men who had fled during the battle for Intaw were captured alive by the revolutionary forces near Katha. The 77th Division is the most famous division of the military council. Since the NUG PDF combined forces did not fight in the battle for Intaw, the division was the first division to be captured by the NUG.
After the city was liberated, the military council bombed the villages around Wan Tho town near Intaw without a fight, killing about twenty local people. Although both sides declared a ceasefire during the earthquake, the military council continued to bomb military and civilian targets, while the revolutionary groups fought to completely capture the city.
