In the earthquake-hit cities of Mandalay and Sagaing, where heavy rains have been falling at irregular intervals, people are living on the streets and in dire straits. So far, no relief camps have been built by the military council. They are only helping each other with some relief camps that have been provided by the international community. The international donations are not even a tenth of what other countries have received. So far, they have only received about $130 million. About half of that money is donated through the United Nations and INGOs. The international community knows that if you donate directly to the military council, it will not reach the people. Since the aid is not getting the amount it needs, the lives of the earthquake-affected people under the military council will continue to be difficult.
