After yesterday’s call for the vote, people are gathering at the ward offices of Maha Aung Myay Township today. However, there are not many young people who will be recruited, and only elderly women come to vote. It is inconvenient for them not to come. If they fail to vote, they will be called home in absentia, and if they are not found at home, they will be arrested and their houses will be sealed. In recent days, the military junta has ordered the entire ward to be voted for in the above manner in some wards of Mandalay New Town, and they are organizing various groups so that those who vote for each other cannot avoid it.
I think that the systematic practice of not drawing people who are found as before is a test of the public. If it is successful in Mandalay now, it will be continued in all the cities under the control of the military council. Then, it will be much easier for the military council to recruit soldiers. There are currently no good ways to avoid this, so if they can easily recruit soldiers as they want, the areas under the military council will be a source of pride for the revolution with the youth.
