The TNLA has withdrawn from Taung Kham, a border region between northern and southern Shan States. The TNLA has been fighting in the area since August. The TNLA has four artillery positions in Taung Kham, two of which were captured before being abandoned. Despite fighting for nearly six months, the TNLA has not been able to completely capture the area because the TNLA has been continuously replenishing its manpower and weapons from southern Shan. Since Taung Kham was not captured, Pyin Oo Lwin is still a long way off.
In other areas, the towns of Bhamo, Innaw and Falam were not captured for about three months. Since the military has been able to replenish its manpower, it has become more difficult to fight for cities than before.
