From 10 pm yesterday to 10 am this morning, the military junta dropped more than 100 bombs and opened fire with heavy weapons on the IDP camps and villages around Monywa, the capital of Sagaing Region, killing at least 10 people, including children, and injuring many others. Some of the injuries are serious and life-threatening. The areas where the military council carried out the attacks are Monywa, Chaung U and Salingyi townships, which are spread over a wide area. The military junta’s aerial bombing of IDP camps and villages without any fighting on the ground was known to have leaked information from the ground. Since they did not act in a secret manner and did not attack the military junta’s camps on the ground, the military junta received information and bombed areas where they thought there might be a group on the ground. In the end, only the people were affected and killed, so it is necessary to keep the military activities in Sagaing Region from leaking information.
